Captivate Project Generates Cryptic Report Data in Connect

I have a Captivate 2 project that I have created to function as a survey instrument. There are 25 questions that include advanced interaction (most all of the questions have navigation that is dependant on the answer chosen on each of the slides). I have all of the quiz manager settings set to report to Adobe Connect. I am able to publish the project to Connect and the module works fine. However, when viewing reports in Connect data is recorded, but the data is linked to ambiguous numbers and there is now way to connect this data with the actual survey questions/responses. I have published other projects similar to this one that don't involve advanced interaction and the survey questions and responses appear in Connect reports. It this a Captivate or Connect problem? If Captivate, what could I do to make the questions and responses appear on the Connect reports so I can understand the data being collected by the survey?

Thanks Mark. After toying with the project this morning, I was able to get the project to publish the way I wanted it to. I will definitely keep your suggestion in mind when I begin on my next project.

MY SOLUTION: I had a Captivate 2.0 project that contained 20 SURVEY questions that involved advance navigation. The project was not correctly reporting interaction results to Connect, so I changed the first survey question to a GRADED question, and that seemed to fix the reporting issue. It appears that a project must include at least one GRADED question in order for interactions to correctly reported to Connect for Captivate projects that include advanced interaction.

Hello there,

Have you tried editing one of the questions and changing the Interaction ID to something more meaningful? By default Adobe Captivate will insert an interaction ID such as "Interaction106233" however the field is editable so you can replace this with your own text.

Adding custom Interaction data

1. Select the Question slide you want to edit.
2. Click the Edit Question button
3. In the Question dialog select the Reporting tab
4. Enter the data of your choosing.

Note: You can also insert more meaningful data to interactive objects such as click boxes, text entry boxes etc. As with Questions you just add your text to to the Interaction ID field of the reporting tab.

Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to mention that if you create reports from Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional on a regular basis then you might like to take a look at the a hosted solution we have created called Nutshell

HTH
