Hi, I created a project in Captivate at 1440X900, but when I try to publish as an F4V it tells me I have to re

size the project smaller

before it will publish. I want the biggest res to start with as the output will b edited further and I am losing res

as I go. Why can't I publsih at the same size I captured (note this is a trial version of Captivate).

Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum,

There is indeed a limit on the maximum resolution for F4V-media, not possible to exceed it. Perhaps you could try to publish to SWF, and convert later on to F4V with a converting app. I can only guess for the reasons: a bigger resolution will mean a much increased filesize, you'll have to take into account that playing a video needs also some pixels for the control bar, and not every user will have a screen with a resolution like yours.

You can rescale in Captivate (Modify menu), while keeping the capture at the highest resolution. There will be some quality loss, but for downscaling, especially if you keep the ratio width/height this loss is minimal.
