Captivate Quiz Issue

Hi All,

I am facing some issue in knowledge checks which is created using captivate 3.

We have selected option such that user can attempt the knowledge check only one time. However if I skip any
question and revisit it using back button, the screen shows the message “You did not answer this question completely” and then onwards I can not attempt any knowledge check in the course, unless I refresh it.

If anybody has the solution for this please let me know ASAP.

Thanks and Regards,
Nilesh

Go into settings and then the Quiz settings. There are options that allows skipping and there are options that enforce taking the quiz. You are looking for the drop-down list item that says something like "The user must take the quiz..."

See if that helps.

Hi

the way Captivate works is that if you allow skipping, you score no points for the skipped question as it marks it as un-answered.

However, the way I get around this is make sure you have the quiz settings set to "user can skip this quiz".
Next make sure each question slide has a skip button and back button and have 'allow backward movement' selected in quiz preferences.

Next I place an additional slide (let's call this the option slide) after all the questions but BEFORE the quiz results screen. This slide states along the lines of "did you skip any questions? click yes to re-visit these or no to continue to results"
Place a yes and no button on this slide with the Yes jumping to the first question slide and the no set to continue.

If they skipped any questions and click yes, it will take them back to the first question and any already answered questions will be greyed out so they cannot change their answer, they use the skip button to move through each question (although CP4 runs through and automatically stops at skipped questions, which is cool!)

When they reach a skipped question they can complete the answer and click submit. eventually they will arrive back at the option slide. Now they click no and continue to their results.

Important - neither the Yes or NO buttons should be included in the quiz (untick include in quiz from button properties)

If you only want them to be able to 1 attempt at the quiz, select 1 attempt in the 'if failing grade' settings in Pass/Fail settings of the quiz.

Hope this helps
