Captivate reports files as "damaged"

Hi all,

I was working on someone else's files and had to use her PC to do so. She copied files down from network and I worked on them on her local PC in standalone mode (off the network). Now, when she tries to open the *.cp files, she gets the error:

"Adobe Captivate could not open filename.cp because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."

She has Captivate 2 on her PC. The files were never emailed so that's not the cause. There are 6 of them, so it seems a bit odd that they would all get corrupted at the exact same time. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
J

No, I didn't use Captivate 3. I used her PC so that I could edit in the same version - Captivate 2.

On a whim, I told her to move the files to another location and open them from there. That worked. This must have something to do with us using two different user accounts. I didn't experience this problem initially because she copied them down from a network drive.

She had only recently upgraded to C2 from C1. This version seems really buggy. If we had known C3 was right around the corner, I definately would have told her to wait.

Thanks for your response.

Were the files ever edited in Captivate 3?
