Question

Captivate SWF and Firefox browser

Hello My Second Favorite Forum,

I have a (many) Captivate swf files (html with swf, and sometimes just a swf) that I run in the Firefox browser.
Attempting to use the "Exit" button in the player (either a flash rdcmndExit or just plain captivate generated html)
will not close the Captivate swf or html page.

But... the "Exit" button, or rdcmndExit, on a swf or html with embedded swf, will close the browser in IE no problem.

Any ideas on this? I will assume the exit feature on the Captivate Playbar is to close the Captivate generated content.

thanks,

    Hello Captiv8r,

You really know how to hurt a guy!

I wonder if that means that if Microsoft ever make a fully compliant browser, then that will not close either! Ha!

    Thanks,

    Eric

    Hi there

As you have seen, whether or how well this does or doesn't work is dependent upon the browser as well as how the original window was opened to begin with.

The bottom line is that I've never seen any script or other solution that is 100% reliable for closing the Captivate. There are just too many variables in the mix.

    Sorry... Rick
