Hi everyone.  I'm looking for help with captivate 8.  I'm new to the program.  I'm hoping you might be able to tell me how to import a theme from a powerpoint presentation.  I have to use the corporate theme for the LMS that I'm working on and I don't know much about this program and my training was basically non-existent.  Thanks!

This doesn't directly answer your question but you might find some use in this video.

    Hi there

The bottom line is that you can't. There is no avenue for importing a theme from PowerPoint. You would have to carefully create a theme using Captivate. Then use that moving forward.

Or, continue to use PowerPoint and just either record it or import it into Captivate and add Captivate elements.

    Cheers... Rick

Thanks Rick!  Can I ask you another question?  Is there a way to put in a question slide that will use the theme that I've got in the PowerPoint that's transferred into the captivate file instead of the master deck without creating a theme?

    Thanks!

A theme in captivate has a lot more features than in PPT. Maybe this article could clarify themes in CP:

    What's in a Theme - a Template? - Captivate blog

Imported PPT-slides use the Blank master slide. Question slides need to use the corresponding master slides because a lot of functionality is embedded in those master slides. There is no way to use "no theme", you can use the Blank theme but that will certainly look different from the theme that you are using in PPT.

You can use the assets that you have in PPT, import them into the Captivate Library. I would recommend to create a theme color palette to start with, based on the color scheme that you are using in PPT.
