Captivate VR Publication Issue

Hello,

Does anyone have an issue where your VR project is very jerky everytime you move your headset?

I've published the file and it's living on the LMS. Everything plays fine, there's just a visual issue where the image and everything on the slide just jumps around.

Thank you,

Matt

As Paul says, it may be a bandwidth issue.  And if your 360 images are too heavy, that will also tend to slow down the reaction times for the browser.

If you look at the size of the 360 images in the Captivate example project you will see that they are all about 1 megabyte in size, despite the fact that their dimensions are 4096 x 2048 pixels.

I would suggest there is a reason WHY Adobe chose to keep these images about that size and it's probably because having images that are too large or heavy is going to kill performance.

Take a good close look at the size of the images in your project.  Are they larger than what Adobe used?  And how many of them do you have in your project?

If the image size and weight is compararable, but you have lots of them, try hiding all but a half dozen slides and republish to test performance.  If the smoothness improves, you may have found your answer.

It's challenging to know the answer here. It sounds to me like it might be a bandwidth issue. 360-degree images or videos are larger than regular images and require more bandwidth. You may want to try optimizing your photos or video before importing them into your project. Also, your LMS may be on a network that can't support higher bandwidth needs.
