Captivate4: Branching quiz logic

Hi there.

I am trying to insert quiz questions throughout a project, whereby the user is redirected to a previous slide if the incorrect answer is given.

I cannot for the life of me find a setting that will allow the user to answer the same quiz question again after they have reviewed the content they were redirected to. Once they have used up their allocation of 'wrong' answers for the quiz and been redirected, they can no longer attempt to redeem themselves.

I have tried global and local settings, to no avail. Am I simply trying to make captivate do something it was not designed for?

Thanks.

Correct answer Lilybiri

You answered yourself, indeed that is not the way Captivate was designed. You can have multiple attempts on two levels:

  1. on question level: but the user needs to exhaust those attempst while remaining on that question slide
  2. on quiz level: the user will be able to retake the whole quiz (correct and incorrect answers) when arriving at the score slide

I tried to explain the functionalities of Captivate quiz and score slide in a blog post, you'll find some tweaking possibilities as well:

Question Question Slides

To achieve what you want is possible but only when you create your own question slides using standard objects (eventually widgets) and advanced actions.

Thanks Lilybiri. I have put all my quiz questions at the end of the project, with multiple attempts possible, but with redirects on individual question slides after multiple attempts at slide level have been exhausted. Still building it, but it should work fine.
