Captivate4: how can I make a slide hidden only if being reached by the forward and reverse buttons?

I'm using Captivate 4.

I have a slide that I only want visible if another slide jumps to it.  I don't want it visible if the learner hits forward or reverse.  An example is below.

Slides 1 takes you to slide 2.

Slide 2 takes you to slide 3.

Slide 3 takes you to slide 4.

Slide 4 jumps to slide 6.

Slide 6 takes you to slide 7.

Slide 7 takes you to slide 8.

Slide 8 takes you to slide 9.

Slide 9 takes you back to slide 5.

Slide 5 takes you back to slide 1.           The actual settings are below.

All of that works just fine as I have it set as long as the learner lets the slides time out and advance on their own.  The problem is if the learner is clicking the forward button, then when she/he is on slide 4, clicking on forward takes the learner to slide 5 (which I don't want).  Similarly, if the learner is on slide 6 and clicks on the reverse button, the learner will see slide 5  Again, I don't want that to happen.  I want slide 5 to be hidden to the learner if hitting the forward or reverse button, but visible when jumped to from another slide.

Slide 1:   On slide exit: Go to next slide

Slide 2:   On slide exit: Go to next slide

Slide 3:   On slide exit: Go to next slide

Slide 4:  On slide exit: Jump to slide 6

Slide 5:   On slide exit: Jump to slide 1

Slide 6:   On slide exit: Go to next slide

Slide 7:   On slide exit: Go to next slide

Slide 8:   On slide exit: Go to next slide

Slide 9:   On slide exit: Jump to slide 5

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jorge G.

The way I have done this (not the greatest but it works) is to hide the forward and backward buttons on the playbar so only buttons such as CC, mute etc. are available.  I also hid the slide on the TOC so the user couldn't go to the next slide.

I created my own forward and back buttons to jump to slides like you did.

    Hello,

The Next, Previous buttons on the playbars will always be functional in the same way: go the next slide, go to the previous slide. And I do not know if it is possible to change that functionality within Captivate itself.

However there are some possible workarounds, perhaps you could choose one of them and (I'm a bit in a hurry) I could explain more elaborately when you made your choice:

    1. Do not use the playbar but have your own Next and Previous buttons on the slides. Then you have total control and could instruct them where necessary to jump to another slide than the next one (dito for Previous)
    2. Use the Table of Contents instead of the playbar for navigation and hide the slides that shouldn't be available for user navigation
    3. Create some advanced actions that when getting to a 'forbidden' slide in a non-regular way results in an immediate jump to the next one (or previous one).
