Captivate8 swf file issue

Hi, I published my project and was able to open it as a swf, pdf, & HTML.  Then I edited my project and renamed it and republished it.  While viewing it as a swf it opened in windows media player and then somehow it got converted to just a windows media player file.  The swf is gone.  and every time I try to publish it I only get the windows media player (which won't open) , PDF, & HTML.  The swf is lost.  Thoughts on this issue would be appreciated.  I am working on a PC in Captivate8.

Hi there,

Is the extension of the file still .swf, or has it changed to .wmv (or something similar)?

It may that you have Windows Media Player set as the default program to open swf files. In which case it'll just be a matter of changing these settings on your PC.

If you let me know what operating system you are using, I can point you in the right direction for further help on this.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

Yes, the extension is still .wmv?  I've tried 3 times to republish and yes it converts automatically to wmv.  I am working on a PC with Windows 7.

Thanks, I really appreciate the help.  I'm not that savvy & it's a project for school that is due this Monday.

Hi Kristin,

Are you ticking 'zip files'? If not, what happens if you try this? I may prevent the swf being automatically being converted.

Republish your project from the CPTX and specify HTM/SWF as the output.
