Captivte8 and a previously published .cptl.

I have Captivate 8 and received a project to update that had been saved and published as a .cptl (template).  I tried to save as a .cptx but it is not an option in the dropdown.  Also not where the template was originally saved. any ideas???

Try to use File, New Project, Project from template.

A cptl file is meant to be used as a template, but I have seen many users who use it for projects and always wonder who has started this weird practice (a bad trainer?)

Avoid using CPTL for anything at all costs.

There is currently a huge bug with having any Advanced Actions or Variables in a CPTL file that happen to be used in the way the template is set up.

When you use the template to spawn a new project CPTX file it duplicates all the variables and Advanced Actions one for every time the action or variable is used.  It makes a huge mess.

Instead of CPTL, just use a CPTX set to READ ONLY as your template.

Hi Rod, If i have already created a project using a template and the completed project is in .cptl format can I convert it into .cptx format and save it without losing any of the interactions and functionalities

thanks
