Captviate losing cropping from PowerPoint slides

Hi all,

I have never used Captivate before, and trying to work it out. I'm trying to convert some PowerPoints to html5. When I import them as a project everything looks good, and is exactly how I want it:

However, once I actually preview the content, it seems to lose all formatting and ends up looking like this:

Again, I've never used captivate, so I may just be missing something really obvious

I use Captivate since almost two decades. One of my recommendations for new users: never use PPT import. A presentation is completely different from an eLearning course. If a client gives me a PPT, I will unzip it and take out all the usable assets, import them in the Project Library in a new cptx project and start from scratch. Then I start by creating a custom Theme, based on some more information detected from the PPR: theme colors, theme fonts, object styles, master slides....

Back to your issue: how did you preview? I suppose you are in a non-responsive project (Welcome screen labels it as Blank project). Unless you are stil on an older version than 11.8.1 (you find the version number under Help, About Captivate) you should use only one Preview method: F11 or Preview HTML in Browser. Was that the case? Which browser(s) did you use for testing? Avoid Safari. Chrome, Edge, Firefox are fine.
