Changing the color of an SVG in Captivate 2019

When I double click on an SGV icon the image goes white and I cannot edit the color. I have tried changing the mouse speed for double click and it is still not working. Any thoughts?

    Hi,

I am experiencing the same issue here, when double clicking on an SVG imported from the Asset Library I get a solid white box - double clicking again does nothing. I also tried selecting 'Use as Button' and tried to edit the different states but the option to change the fill remains greyed out. A colleague I work with has this issue but only in the office. When they are working from home they are able to edit the colour of SVG icons. I am on the latest version 11.8.0.586. The cptx is saved locally and the cache is set up to a local folder too.

Has anyone got a solution for this?

Ran into the same issue and finally figured out. When I double-click the first time, it turns into white. I double-click it AGAIN, and I am able to change the fill color.

Running into the same issue. I have tried multiple times and it appears that it is working. The grey bounding box that was turing white now actually selects the object and places blue bounding boxes. The only thing I did differntly was scale the SVG and it started working.

The version of Captivate that is downloaded from the Adobe website when you first install it isn't  necessarily the very latest version available.  You need to check not just the major version number (e.g. Captivate 2019 a.k.a Cp 11) but also the minor version numbers that follow it (e.g. 11.5.1.499). There are often update patches that need to be installed to bring your Captivate version up to the very latest build.  These updates may turn out to have resolved the issue you have.  So, updating to the very latest build is usually one of the first things Captivate experts here on the forum will suggest that you do.  They don't want to waste their valuable time chasing issues that could be easily solved that way.

Rod, in the portal OP told it was 11/5/1/499 which is the most recent version. Edit SVG also worked in 11.5.0.476.

Yeah I didn't see that post. This forum is a dog's breakfast at the moment. I know they said it's a 'work in progress' but it's a very painful 'work in progress' for anyone trying to assist others here.

If you used indeed one of the icons from the Assets Library (as I did in the mentioned blog post) and you have same issues, try this:

    • Clean the Preferences, by running the CleanPreferences... file which you find in the subfolder 'utils' under the installation folder. Captivate needs to be closed.
    • With Captivate closed, delete the Contents folder in the eLearning Assets folder, which you find under Publis Documents on a Win system.

It doesn't work for me because when I double click the entire image turns white. There is no colored zone.

What version of Captivate are you using? I do not see "modify the image." There is and Edit SVG button but I think it requires other editing software.
