when I insert a missing word quiz slide (or fill in the word slide) with dropdown boxes, on the first one there is no default text in the dropdown box, on the second one and the following ones there's always written "select" as default text. I would like to make it identical on all slides, how is this possible?

It depends on the width of the FIB field: only the wider fields have that default text Select. The width depends on the first entry in your list, to be recommended to put the longest 'word' on top. You can add some spaces before the word to force a wider field.
Personally I never use the FIB default quiz slide, but prefer creating a custom slide with TEB's. Each TEB can be scored, which means that your FIB custom slide has automatically partial scoring which leads to a better user experience. Of course, you have to be a bit acquainted with user variables and advanced/shared actions to create all the functionality (feedback, review...) of the default FIB slide.
