Question

Click a button to jump to a specific time on a slide

Hi All,

I am using Captivate Classic v11

I have a tabbed menu that has three menu options. When I click tab 1, the tab 1 description shows and tab 2 and tab 3 descriptions hide (and so on...). I will have audio and CC for the tabbed menu slide.

I want to be able to click on a tab 1 and have the playhead taken to the particular frame on the slide that plays the "tab 1" description. I have followed the micro navigation approach, but every time I click on the tab 1, it advances forward by the amount of frames identified.

For example, I have set it up to jump 1.5 seconds forward when I click tab 1. The tab 1 button does have a pause. After the pause, I click the tab 1 button again but it advances 1.5 seconds, instead of taking me back to the specific time 1.5 seconds (from the slide duration).

Any help will be greatly appreciated! For context, I need it to jump to those particular times in order for the audio and the CC to link up. I also need it to pause in order to click on the other tabs and do the same thing.

My suggestion is to do these three menu options on three different slides rather than trying to do it all on one slide.

If you do that then you will have no problems with CC and audio synching perfectly and it will be a lot simpler to maintain.

Correct, the easy route is to not include audio in the menu slides as this is already 508 compliant for screen readers, I just wanted to see if there is anyone here that has come up with a solution so that micro navigation and cc's work hand in hand. The problem is that I can't figure out a way to go to that exact point without just adding or just reducing time to the cpInfoCurrentFrame variable.
