Click box action in Captivate 9 not working

I am creating a training simulation in Captivate 9.  I want the student to click in one area on the screen.  They have 3 chances to click in the right place.  Captivate is set up to show a Success Message and a Failure Message.  Under "Last Attempt", I have selected "Show" and told Captivate to show a Custom Shape that I put on the page and gave a unique name.  I don't want my Custom Shape to show up until the student has failed the third time.

When I publish my training simulation, my Custom Shape shows up all the time and nothing happens after the third failed attempt.  I don't want to use the Hint box tied to the Click Box because it shows up when the user scrolls over the correct area, not after the 3 failed attempts.

What am I doing wrong?  Or does anyone have a suggestion for how to do this?  Adobe Help is useless as it refers to options that do not exist in Captivate 9.

Was your custom shape hidden in output? That can be done with the eye button in its Properties panel or by using the On Enter action for the slide with the command Hide.

Can you mention the complete version number. Latest version is 9.0.2.437.

I am using the latest version, Captivate 9.0.2.437.

The custom shape is not hidden in the output at all.  That's part of the problem.  It shows up all the time.  I want it to appear only after the third incorrect click, not all the time.

That is why I told you have to hide it, and Show it with action Last Attempt.
