Click Boxes and Text Captions

I want a click box to dispaly a text caption that I inserted.  What I want to happen is the text caption to be hidden until the user clicks, and the click box is what determines the timing for the text caption.  I saw that under the action for the click box I can make it show the text caption, but I don't know what settings to change in the text captions property box to make sure it doesn't appear until the user clicks.

Does Captivate have a link to insert shapes?  Or do I manually have to draw them.

The drawing shapes are in the vertical toolbar, under the line button. You see a small triangle, keep the mouse button down on that button and a flyout menu will appear where you'll find the rectangle, oval and polygon shapes. To insert text, just double click on the shape after drawing it and you'll get the Character and Format accordions ready to layout the text.

I created a screenshot of the flyout menu, but for the moment am not able to upload it, sorry.

You set the Text Caption to Invisible by turning off 'Visibility' in the Properties panel.

The click box has two events (On Success, After Last Attempt in the Action accordion), since you want the user to click on the CB to have the text caption appearing, use the On Success action to show the Text Caption. This action has the same effect as turning on its Visibility. If the playhead was not after that Timeline (duration) of the Text Caption it will be visible then. It cannot appear without that click because it is set to invisible.

Thanks so much!  Is there any way to make the text caption boxes smaller?  I resized them down, but I feel like they are still so large.

The default text captions have margins and depending on the style, you cannot get them smaller than a minimum size. You could edit the text captions (bmp and fcm) but perhaps another idea: you can insert text in a drawing shape (rectangle, polygon, circle) as well, and perhaps so you will have more control.
