Click buttons on one slide are not working when I publish

I have "Back" and "Next" buttons on every slide in my project, but when I publish the project, I keep getting stuck on one slide. It happens to be the first slide where there is a another click box to a URL. When I preview the project, I can easily navigate through all the slides, but when I publish the project, I can't get beyond this one slide.

I'm also having problems with the number of questions. The progress indicator says for example, "Question 1 of 31" or "Question 20 of 31", but there are only 10 questions.

Help please!

Patty

Hi Patty

For the inaccurate question count, you need to tap the F9 key to open the Advanced Interaction dialog. Turn off scoring for the Click Boxes.

As for the inop buttons, my guess is that you have an issue with timing and placement of your objects on the slides. Or possibly you have your quiz settings configured so all questions must be answered. In this case, you won't be able to skip over question slides using a button because the questions haven't been answered yet.

Hopefully something here was useful to you... Rick

Rick -- You are a brilliant man! I NEVER would have figured this out! I must have had a setting turned on that indicates that all click boxes are attached to the quiz.

Now, how do I change that globally?

Thanks! Patty

Hi Patty

I'm happy to help. It's been my experience that once you add a Click Box, if you turn reporting off for that one at the time you are adding it, the next one you add will also have reporting turned off. In other words, however you had it set last should be the way it inserts. But I'm doubtful this applies to the Click Boxes that get added by Captivate at the time you record.

Keep in mind that while it's not exactly perfect and doesn't work 100% of the time, you also have the "Apply to all" feature available.

Cheers... Rick
