Question

Clickbox doesn't open URL on our webserver in v5

Hi,

I have a clickbox which doesn't open a url on our webserver.  The url works just fine when typed into a browser.

If I use a UNC path it DOES work, but this is not desireable for security reasons.

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance,

Richard

What browser and version are you using?  Is the click box configured to open the link in a new window?  If so, you could have a popup blocker issue.  Turning off the native browser popup blocker may not be enough.  If you have the google toolbar loaded as well, that also has a popup blocking feature.

Hi Jim,

I turned off open in new browser and left it at current - same thing happens.  I also made sure it was the top layer thinking that migth be it but it wasn't either.

Darn this is frustrating.  Seems like such a simple thing.  Otherwise I'm finding the product pretty great.

Thanks,

Richard

What's the URL for the clickbox?  Do you hear a click sound when you hit the button?

This sounds like a security permissions issue.

Is the URL blocked by browser security settings?

Do all users report the same issue with accessing the URL, or are persons with higher ADMIN security privileges able to access it?

Is the URL internal to your network/intranet or external?

I don't thik it is security because:

- The url brings up the pdf when entered directly into a browser

- All users experience this.  I have AD Admin rights on the server and it fails for me

- This is on an intenal portal

Thanks!
