Closed Captioning in Captivate 2019 Issue

I recently had to re-install Captive 2019 and now when I open the closed captioning setting it locks up and won't allow me to do anything.  I have to go to my task manager to close the program.  I have tried this 5+ times and had no success.  I used closed captioning previously without an issue.  Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Are you saying that you cannot see the CC Settings dialog appear after you click the Settings button on the TOC editor and that locks up Captivate?

If so, I would ask you to try hitting the ESCAPE key on your keyboard to see if that returns control of Captivate.  If it does, then your actual problem is that the CC Settings dialog is appearing off screen where you cannot see it.  This is a comon problem that occurs when you have been using dual monitors with a different orientation.  The CC Settings dialog is modal, which means you cannot interacti with other parts of Captivate until you close it again. You may need to try setting up a similar dual monitor configuration again to find the dialog and move it to the screen you want to use.

    Hi,

It opens up CC Settings window but the window is blank on top.  I can click apply and close but the window will not close and hitting escape doesn't help either.

Can you show us a screenshot of what you see on that window?

Which exact version of CP2019 do you use? Full version number can be found under Help, About Captivate.

Did you clear the Preferences? Find the subfolder 'utils' under the installation folder and run CleanPreferences... while Captivate is closed. There are two files: one is for Windows, the other is for Mac.

    Hi,

I have 11.5.5.  I ran the CleanWindows file and it made no difference.  Do you have any other ideas?

One of my systems is also on 11.5.5.553.

Can you describe your workflow to go to the CC setting?
