Closed Captions and triggers

Hello,

The age-old question- triggered audio and closed captions- is it possible yet? if not does anyone have an alternative to meet 508 complaince?

I know linked in learning shows you every note in a one-page format for each audio on the "scene"

and I have worked with companies in the past who have done similar using storyline. but Captivate does not have a show notes option.

Other thoughts are to make interactions jump to another slide. but this would mean programming 5 slides as 1, but this would increase the time it takes to create/publish dramatically. ( 1 slide with 5 interactions becomes 6 slides and each slide having its own advanced action.. if client changes the way any button works at any point means recreating aspects of 6 advanced actions, right?)

I am looking for advice any would be greatly appreciated

For Play Audio, not for object audio since you mention only Play Audio. Object audio is connected to an object, I don't understand 'audio pointing at an object'.

For Play Audio, whether it is a simple action or it is part of an advanced/shared action, you'll need to create a associated text container with the CC text and have it pop up at the same time as the Play Audio command is triggered. This means that you will always need an advanced action or  - much better - a shared action combining 'Play Audio' with 'Show TextAudio'. If you want CC to be a learner's choice it will need to be in a conditiona action, based on the learner's choice: if CC is chosen you need to show the text, if not you don't show the text.

Your question is not clear to me.

'Triggered audio'? I understand you don't mean slide audio since CC is easy to create for that type of audio. This means you are pointing to either object audio, or audio started by the command 'Play audio'. And you want to show text as CC, it will not be the normal CC.

How would you go about creating CC for audio started by the command play audio or audio pointing at an object with the advanced action "play audio ..." ?
