Combine 2 files

Hello:

This must sound like an obvious question to experienced users, but it's a new topic for me. How does one record 2 separate files and then combine them into one presentation? What are the pitfalls? Is there any thing special I must do?

Thanks,
Robert

Hi Robert,

The pitfall(s) is/are that you might create a larger than needed file, and have resulting bandwidth or file-size issues with the resulting large (merged) project. The process is simple enough ... but it is usually important that the physical size of the two projects be the same. Here are the steps:

1) Open the first project - the one you want to add to ...
2) Select (highlight or open in Edit view) the
last slide
. . . . . . (Note: The 2nd project will append beginning at the selected slide)
3) Go to "FILE > IMPORT > SLIDES/OBJECTS
4) Then navigate to the Captivate project file (CP) you want to append
5) After selecting the project to append ...
6) Select from the dialog the slides or objects you wish to import ...
7) Tell Captivate "OK" to begin the import process.

That should do it. Hope this helps.

Thanks Larry, that sounds relatively easy. I was going to copy the slides from the 2nd file and past them into the first file, but this sounds like a much better option.

We need 2 files because the person recording them wasn't available to do the entire project all at once. She recorded the frist 1/2 Friday and will record the 2nd half today.

I think when we save it to an .exe file, the size will be dramatically reduced. Is that correct?
