Compatibility list of camera for live recording

Hi

In order to improve presentations, we plan to buy a good camera, something in the prosumer range, like the Sony VG30 for example.

This kind of camera allow playback recording, but I wondering if there is a "compatibility list" from Adobe with approved models working with presenter.

Or at least, any kind of recommendations for working with good equipment, instead of a webcam.

Thanks for any feedback, or user experience with good camcorder.

Hi,

Recommended cameras are mentioned here -> http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/presenter/using/record-video-presentations.html#recommended_cameras_and_microphones

We haven't done sufficient test with handycams/live camera, so we don't recommend it, though you can test it if you already have a camcorder and firewire port in your system. In that setup, you will need DVdriver from this link -> http://www.trackercam.com/TCamWeb/download.htm

But again, this is not recommended. If you're buying a new camera to record using presenter, then buy one from the recommended list.

Please follow this checklist before recording any video with Adobe Presenter Video Creator :-

  • Are your video card driver is up to date? Please check whether you have the latest driver from the manufacturer’s site.
  • Are all unnecessary applications closed?
  • Do you have sufficient free space on your hard disk? At least 5 GB is needed, but around 15 GB is recommended.
  • Are your webcam drivers up to date? It is recommended to install the webcam driver from the webcam cd or the webcam company’s site.
  • Are you capturing your video in a well-lit environment? Most webcams perform poorly in bad lighting.

Thanks,

Vikram

The Connect Support team also recently posted this. It does call out a few camera/video options that are known to have issues, rather than a list of those that work, but it gives good info about what to look for in a camera as well: http://blogs.adobe.com/connectsupport/adobe-connect-supported-cameras-and-mic/

Adobe presenter recognizes my FireWire cams. However, despite setting the output in DVDriver to 720x480, presenter displays the output as 360x240. Anyone have a solution.

TIA

Todd
