Question

Compress file to upload to Moodle

I'm brand new to Captivate and developing interactive e-trainings for adults, so this question is quite rudimentary and probably already asked, but I can't find a thread on this topic! How can I compress a file to Moodle(rooms)? The LMS limit seems to be 2 MB for most resource uploads and the project I want to upload is a test project that is 4.7 MB (12 slides with narration and interactive learning features) big. I've already reduced the resolution and checked for any unlinked objects. I'm worried because our typical training will likely be around 50 slides, at minimum.

I would appreciate any help you can offer -- thank you!

You don't compress the training content.  You need to get your LMS administrator to increase your allowed upload filesize limitation.  You are very rarely going to be able to keep a typical e-learning module under 2 megabytes nowadays.  I suggest that if you are only uploading single modules, then 20 megabytes is a much more realistic limit.  If you happen to be looking into uploading Multi-SCORM packages (where there are several modules bundled into the same zip file) then you'll need an upload limit more like 100 megabytes.
