Configure video buffering

Hi all

I'm using Captivate 8, and I'm experiencing choppy video playback in my modules the first time the user views the video. Upon replay the video is playing without any issues. I'm using synchronized f4v video , and want to know if there's is a way to make sure the slide doesn't play until all or at least some of the video have been downloaded. As it is now, it play 0.5-1 second of video and then stops to load, and so on, causing a very bad user experience.

I have set the preloader to 100%, but this has no effect whatsoever.

Hi Rod

I'm using slide video - and the problem is definitely caused by some kind of server problem, but they won't be upgraded any time soon - I have tried reducing the size and bitrate which helped a little bit, but if I reduce any more, the video looks like it's made from LEGO bricks. But I guess there is no way to adjust buffering for each video? For instance, force it to cache the video before the slide plays?

Is this video on one of the earlier slides in the project?

As an experiment, have you tried placing the video on a slide much later in the project?

It's on the second slide - there is video on nearly every slide of the project and all of them have problems playing properly.

Your options may be a bit limited because this sounds like you have insufficient bandwidth to support the video as it is currently encoded.

What type of video is it (Event or Slide)?

Can you reduce the size or bitrate of the video?
