Question

Contents of dr folder

I received a project folder and SCORM 1.2 zip folder for a project that was created in Captivate 9.

In the zip file, the ar folder was filled with images and even the captions had been converted to images.

I opened the project and published it but my ar folder was filled with json files.

I've done some research and it seems like Captivate 9 should only be publishing json files.

Unfortunately, the people who created the project and output aren't working here anymore for me to ask how they did it.

Is there something in settings that allow you to publish images rather than json?

Thanks for any help.

Kaitlin

If anyone else has the problem I describe here -

From other threads I was able to write our LMS provider and ask -

Does the LMS server have json set as a mime-type?

Within 2 days, everything was working great.

Thanks to all who contribute here.

The ar folder is for audio files, the dr folder is where the image or image json files are located.

Oh no! Really, that's what I meant.  It may be that I'm a little slow. Well, that would be why I'm asking the questions rather than answering them.

By the way, I really appreciate all of you who take the time to answer questions here. You have helped me so much these past 2 months that I have been using Captivate.

Maybe they published both to SWF and HTML? JSON is used for HTML only.

I tried only publishing the SWF but the files weren't created at all. I didn't think they would be. I think having all the elements wrapped up in the SWF is what made Flash work across the browsers.

From reading older posts, I was under the impression that older versions of Captivate used images in the ar folder for the HTML and with version 9 Captivate started using json.

For some strange reason, our LMS won't load projects using json. From reading some of Rod's posts, I think it has to do with some extensions that they need to add to the server. I emailed our vendor but they told me that I didn't know what I was talking about.

SCORM files that were created with images in the ar folder will load properly on iPads while SCORM files with json in the ar folder show the loading symbol forever.

I know that this project was published using Captivate 9 just a few months ago before I took over. My predecessors apparently  knew a trick to force the HTML5 publish preferences to create images in the ar folder.

Thanks again for any suggestions!

JSON use started with the last patches for CP9, but only for HTML5. This explains why your predecessors ended up with images in the dr folder. Maybe if you could go back to the first version of 9 (but with the bugs), you'd have the images when publishing to HTML5.
