Continue button on Closed Caption

We do multiple layers per slide, if we use closed caption is there a way to add a next or continue button to stop at each layer of informaton? Currently, we are using the text caption towards the bottom of the screen just like Closed Caption and then we add the click box/continue button feature for our customers to advance to the next layer once they are done reading. We attach the audio to the click box. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or comments.

    Hi there

Actually, I believe your way is more creative and flexible. Here's why I think that.

You are able to move that caption so it appears anywhere on the page. Closed Captioning is limited to only that area on the bottom. This may look odd if you have opted to relocate your playback controls.

Closed Captioning is attached to the audio at the slide level. If you used something like a Click Box or Button, you could certainly pause the slide at the appropriate points but the audio doesn't pause. There is an option in the Click Box and Button properties that allows stopping the slide audio, but that won't happen until your user actually clicks the object.

The only thing I'm seeing here that I might consider changing is where you attach your audio. You say that you are attaching it to the Click Box. If that's working for you and you are comfortable with that approach, I'm hesitant to advise you to switch it. But if you are posting the question here because you are seeing issues, I might consider attaching the audio to the actual captions themselves. This way, wherever you place the caption on the Timeline, the audio follows automagickally. All you have to concern yourself with is when and where the captions appear.

    Cheers... Rick

Thanks for your quick response, the problem I have is my boss likes the option for our customers to advance at their convience but he really doesn't want to see the text caption and hear the audio at the same time he feels that the text takes away from the listening mode and feels it may be confusing for customers. He likes the fact that we have it set up this way, he just wants it out of sight and only show up if the customers wants it that way, like the way the Closed Caption works.

His vison is for us to show bullet points and then have the audio to expan on those points, but for customers who do not have speakers or is out in the lobby and can not have the audio on, we need the closed caption feature (with the continue/click box to back up the audio.

Of this subject, can you explain how to add video to our slides?
