Copy/Paste in Edit mode, is it allowed?

Using SnagIt I want to copy an image of an application screen and paste it into a blank slide in Edit mode. I haven't had success, can I do this? I know that I can first create and save a .jpg of my image then use the Insert Image option from the Insert Menu but this is much more time consuming. Might there be another way?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Ken and welcome to our community

Absolutely you can do this! One thing I've found with SnagIt though, is that you first have to do a Ctrl+A to select the whole image before you copy it. That one bites me all the time. I am so accustomed to just pressing Ctrl+C and off I go, that I always forget to select it all first!

Rick and Mark, thank you for your help. I believe there was a conflict between another open application on my desktop. Today I shut everything down, opened only my primary app (SAP), Captivate and SnagIt tried your suggestion and voila - it worked perfectly. Don't know what was happening before other than perhaps an app conflict but I'm very happy today. Thank you again for your help and support.

Ken.

Captivate is the only application I've experienced this. I use SnagIt almost daily to copy/paste into Word and Outlook and it works every time. I'm stumped.

Ken,

Using Rick's method (or any method, for that matter), can you copy SnagIt images to an application other than Captivate, such as Word?

I too have no problem copy/pasting from SnagIt when doing a CTRL+A, CTRL+C in the SnagIt window, so I'm wondering if it's not a bigger issue.

Rick, thank you but still need your help. In SnagIt I tried Ctrl+A first then Ctrl+C or Copy All button next then go to Captivate and Ctrl+V on a blank slide but nothing pastes, as if nothing is on my clipboard. I've also tried right click then Paste Slide (in Captivate) but still nothing. What else should I be doing? Thanks.
