Copy/Paste issues with objects and slides

I've noticed that if I copy and paste an item in Captivate 8, I can no longer change the properties on the original item or on the copied item. A few examples:

• I copied a page that had a fade transition into another project. I could not remove the fade.
• I copied an item from one slide to the next. I wanted it to fade in on one slide and fade out on the next. I couldn't make the change to either item.
• I copied a button that had an action to go to a specific URL. I couldn't change the button to jump to a specific slide.

Am I missing a step or a setting somewhere?
