Copying objects from PowerPoint to Captivate

I need to convert a PowerPoint presentation to Captivate, but not by the usual way.The PowerPoint objects need to be Captivate objects so that they don't need to be round-tripped to PP every time a change needs to be made. When I copy and paste objects from PowerPoint into Captivate, they become raster. Now that Captivate 9 supports SVG, does anyone have a suggestion how to get the vector objects from PowerPoint into Captivate as SVG vector objects?

There is no way to convert PowerPoint objects into Captivate objects.

This is probably NOT what you want to hear but:...

If you want to edit these objects in Captivate, create them from the start as Captivate objects and forget using PowerPoint.

    Rod,

If you were to ignore the PowerPoint part of the question: "does anyone have a suggestion how to get the vector objects into Captivate as SVG vector objects?"

    How would you respond?

Are SVG graphics able to be brought in as objects, like a Photoshop document handles layers, that appear separately in the Library?

Do SVG graphics have the same flaw in how they are handled, as a Photoshop documents, in that layers are brought in without respect for their positions?

(Importing a Photoshop document to Captivate causes the layers to be recognized as objects, but thy are all cropped based on the individual layer content, and re-positioned to 0,0. This eliminates most of the value of importing Photoshop documents for me!)

As far as I am aware SVG graphics are brought in as objects and stored in the Library.  I don't know if layers are preserved or not.  You would need to test that out for yourself.
