Question

Copying slides from one presentation to another without losing anything....

Once an asset is downloading, for instance a scenario, one will use that in multiple lessons obviously. The problem I'm having is that when I copy slides from that open cptx file into my lesson, things can disappear, particularly the theme or background. How do you successfully pull in slides from another lesson or an asset that's been download while keeping the integrity of those slides?

Thanks.

You will have to use the same theme, if you want to keep the styling of objects, master slides and skin. To me that is why themes are used, it is very easy to save a custom theme and apply it to any project. Even if you create a template to reuse, it is important to save the theme and the theme color palette.

If you are talking about advanced actions triggered by interactive object or slide events, I would recommend to use shared actions that are available since version 7.

Thank you but that still doesn't work. I downloaded a scenario with the Chic theme and when I copied and pasted the slides into my lesson, it did not copy over all of the slide; the heading was missing, which is a big area on top that pretty much makes up the theme. These things should copy over perfectly if Captivate doesn't give one the option to import them directly into a lesson. I tried that too and that did not work. It presented some kind of library window that I couldn't do anything with.

Is the heading perhaps on the master slide? Did you check that, because I never had the issue you describe.
