Corrupt File restore from back up

So I had a file with the same message about not being able to open it.  I cleared the cache. That didn't work.  Now I am trying to resotre from back up file but the program won't open it.  What am I missing?

    Did you change the extension from cptx.bak to cptx? If it cannot be opened, that means the backup project is corrupt as well.

    Since you cleared the cache of all the files, you cannot restore from the cache folder anymore. That would have been another backup.
