CP 2019 Speed Issues??

May I ask why CP 2019 runs so darn slow? I have a circa 2015 MAC w/32Gb RAM so what gives?

I am looking for recommendations on how to improve this please, thank you.

PS. I repeatedly empty the cache with no noticeable improvement.
