Cp 6 Quiz Buttons and Accessibility / Screen readers

Hi all!

We have built a course in Cp 6 that contains a number of quiz slides. Originally, the project brief did not require the course to be 508 compliant (i.e. accessible to the hearing and visually impaired), so it was never designed for this. However, the client now requires it and obviously some modifications are needed.

Closed Captioning and accessibility descriptions per slide or per object are not a problem. It's the quiz questions that seem to be an issue.

I've used JAWS screen reader to test the course in IE11 and have found that the quiz buttons in particular are detected as "graphics" rather than "buttons", which means that they can't be selected and the end-user can't submit his/her answer. It's a scenario-based course, so the quizzes are a vital component.

On-slide buttons on other non-quiz slides are detected. It's just the quiz slides that seem to be a problem.

The quizzes questions are all multiple choice.

I've done some research and I'm under the impression that screen readers like JAWS should be able to interact with the quiz buttons. Does anybody any helpful suggestions as to why this isn't working?

Thanks

Paul

I am having these same issues using Captivate 8.

Another problem is with the "Submit All" dialog that lets the user know they need to submit the quiz - the screen reader does not even see this so it does not read it.

I hope we get an answer soon because without 508 compliance I may not be about to use Captivate.
