CP 8 Responsive Projects Image Best Practices?

Hello my I am creating Responsive projects with CP8 and I am having problems with images.

When the screen is reduced the images loose quality to the point that they become unreadable is there a better way to get the images to reduce and not loose quality?

    Do these images include text? PNG is a good format not JPEG.

    I generally use 24 bit PNGs, have a go and see if it scales down ok
