CP5: Timing Effects

Hey all,

I am syncing audio with a table i created and wanted to emphasize the parts of the table as they are referenced in the audio.I am wondering if there is a way to precisely time the effects.  Specifically in the manner in which we can manipulate timing within the objects themselves? any advice would be wonderful.

Thanks in advance,

Kyle

    Hello,

It is true that you cannot zoom in on the timeline and there is no Properties for timing of Effects. But you can have exactly the same precision on this timeline if you are willing to use shortcuts? I rarely use dragging on the timeline and find shortcuts mostly quicker than having to type in numbers in the Properties, Timing accordion (smallest increment is 0.1 sec there too) for the main timelines as well:

    • Right/Left arrows will move the effect 0.1sec in the indicated direction
    • CTRL+Right/Left will move the effect 1sec in the indicated direction
    • SHIFT+Right/Left will increment/decrement the duration of the effect with 0.1sec
    • CTRL-SHIFT+Right/Left will increment/decrement the duration of the effect with 1sec

    Sorry, I'm a shortcut-freak

    Hello,

Could you explain a little bit more? You can time an effect on the effects timeline that will be limited to the duration of the timeline of that object on the slide.

Well I overcame the issue by not really needing it to be quite so precise, but right now all you can do (as far as i can tell) is drag the e

ffect to the desired time on the timeline. this isn't as precise as say putting the number in a text field.  when you time when an object appears you can do just the timeline or you can input it into a field on the properties under timing
