CP6 - Need to add an audio button on quiz slides to "Read the question aloud." Most of our intended audience is younger (1-5 grade) and provide more accurate results if each question is "read" to them. Of course there are great readers in the bunch, but the option needs to be available to listen to the question and not have to read it. So we need a button to trigger the audio on each question. Ideas?

I really need it to be attached to a button. The default behavior of the quiz needs to be silent, unless you press the button to have the question read aloud. Oh well, I'm still on my trial period, might have to look elsewhere for some course-building tools or build more custom ones. Overall I really like Captivate though. Thanks for the help.

You don't need a button. Just add a rollover caption to the question slides an add the sound you the caption part. You can hide the caption by making it transparent .

Hello,

Welcome to Adobe Forums

You can add a Button or a Click box (Interactive Objects) on a Question Slide.

Although you can add audio on Question Slide and you can use Text to Speech Feature to achieve your workflow

Note : Text to Speech generated Audio will be on timeline, although you can't call that audio by a click but you can set the timings as per your requirement

Thanks,

Vikram

That option is grayed out. Insert > Standard Objects > Click Box and Button are both unavailable when I'm on a quiz slide. I've created one successfully on a different non-quiz slide, but wasn't able to copy and paste it to the quiz slide. Not sure what I'm missing? Using Captivate 6.

Hello Matt,

Sorry for the typing mistake, I was trying to write (You can't add a Button or a Click Box)

You can consider adding an Audio file.

Thanks,

Vikram
