Cp7 Glossary Interaction Content (Definition) Truncates
Cp7 Glossary Interaction
Custom Content Font Size
Some definitions do not fully display; words at the end of the <def>...</def> segment are lost (truncated). Adding more words or deleting words in the def element does not work. Sometimes adding new line characters (extra blank lines) works, sometimes not. I tried the same with Calibri and the same problems occured. This behavior does not occur with every def element. Some def elements are very long and require scrolling when the project is running and even with the need for scrolling, none of the words or lines are truncated. With some 140 definitions, there were 8 def elements that had the truncation problem.
I created an XML for the definitions. On definitions that had the truncation problems I have retyped them, checked for invisible characters, checked for special characters (dashes, slashes, and so on); I have removed words in the body of the definition and the truncation still occurs. Sometimes if I add two or more line breaks in the def element the truncation can be avoided. I have created the XML in Dreamweaver in an XML document.
I also tried to add a definition directly into the widget (not just an XML import). Same problem.
Font size does not directly improve or worsen the situation.
I have found one very strange thing. None of the truncated definitions are long enough for the widget-interaction to require scrolling. However, if a truncated definition is showing and I use the mouse wheel, I can scroll up or down to see the whole definition. Again, the interaction shows no scroll bar for the definition--the definition is not long enough to require a scroll bar. If, however, I use the mouse wheel on that truncated definition I can see the complete text. Since there is no indication that the text of the definition needs to be scrolled, the user is left with the impression that the text got cut off or the developer didn't finish typing.
Perhaps it is a bug.
Where can I log this suggested fix or "enahancement?"
Thank you.
