CP7 HTML5 output: buttons and click boxes not compatible with Chrome R51+
System: Windows Enterprise 7 64, CP7.0.1.237
Problem behavior: At runtime, the module freezes between each click. The player switches to pause after any screen containing a button or click box. Clicking Play allows one click, and then the module freezes at the next button or click box. The user must continue to click Play before each click on the slide.
I am publishing to HTML5 output, and just had user feedback that our eLearning modules do not function in Chrome (R51.0.2704.103m). I found the post related to the change in support for deprecated methods, noteOn and noteOff in the Web Audio API - which was noted for Google Chrome R36+. This was definitely part of the problem, as I found and replaced these methods in the CMP.js file, per the instructions in the post. The module played as expected when I tested the published HTML5 file in Chrome on my computer, as well as on a shared drive on the company network. However, when I play the course in Chrome from the web server, I get the freeze behavior again. The module plays fine in IE 11.
The original post was dated July 25, 2014. I noted the problem carried over to CP8. Has there been any updates for this problem?

Brent Whittaker
