CP9: Any changes to web object (HTML page) don’t update

Hi

I insert a web object – a HTML page, into CP9 and it works ok.

(inserted on a slide - not a new window)

But if I make any changes to the HTML page and reinsert it, the changes don’t update in CP9.

Here’s my work flow:

  1. Make changes to HTML page
  2. Delete published folder.
  3. Delete web object Zip file.
  4. Delete web object on CP slide
  5. Save CP project.
  6. Re-zip web object. (uses updated HTML page)
  7. Insert in CP. (object > web > address > display in slide)
  8. Republish.
  9. Open index file in Adobe Brackets (inbuilt web server) which tests it in Chrome.

The problem is that the republished course uses the original HTML page (old code).

Any ideas why?

If I create a new folder, move the CP file and HTML page to that folder.

Then publish it, it works ok.

CP 9.0.2.437

Windows 10

Chrome 55.0.2883.87 m

I have not done your exact situation but I know when I insert a web object from a local file on my system rather than a web address, the item is copied into my library. You may have to delete the original HTML file from your library first, or alternatively when you update the HTML page give it a new name so Captivate is forced to pull in the new one.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks Paul that worked.

I deleted the old web object(s) in the library before inserting the updated one.

    In addition:

There is only 1 slide in the CP file.

The CP slide just contains 2 text captions and the web object.

Same problems occurs if i insert as HTML animation.

    Furthering testing:

CP slide is a blank slide - nothing on it.

HTML page just consists of text "This is old text".

I change the HTML text to "This is NEW text".

(I delete everyting - published files, old zip text, web object on slide.)

I zip the HTML page (zipped file contains NEW text).

But when i insert the zip file the old text is displayed.

(i don't even have to publish it because i can see it's wrong).

If anyone has some time can they test this.

I just want to make sure it's not related to my setup, OS etc.
