Hey guys, Ive been trying to figure out how to create a quiz using captivate but I dont see any operators that would let me sum (on actionscript) the value of several fields including on the quiz and then show an answer based on the answer, anyone has done this?

Hello,

Welcome on the forum. Could you tell which version of CP you are using, please?

If it is CP4, this could be realized by using variables and Advanced actions, but before explaining, would like you to answer my first question.

Hello Liby,

Thank you for the warm welcome, Until recently I never realized CP could be used as an e-learning tool - so I've been exploring that side and getting familiar with. I'm using version 4. Since I'm very interested in the SCORM capabilities.

I'd appreciate your guidelines, was evaluating SumTotal Toolbox as well but there's something about Open Script I don't get .

Hello Benji

Captivate is a great elearning tool, 'fell in love' with it when I discovered it years ago (version 1), just after I had tried to create some interactive SWF with Flash on which I spent so much hours that I was getting desperate. Since that version there has been quite a lot of features added. In CP4 we do have variables and a sort of easy scripting tool, called Advanced actions. That makes branching, based on certain conditions, in a learning module much easier.

Would certainly recommend reading the tutorial about variables and scripting in the Help, Chapter 'Variables and Advanced actions'. It will give you some idea about the possibilities.

You will always find someone on this forum to help you out. It has a great moderator, Captiv8r (Rick Stone), learnt so much from his answers.

Enjoy playing with Captivate,
