Custom Breakpoints and Fluid Boxes: More Questions
So as I still experiment with Fluid Boxes vs. Breakpoints, I've come to realize that there might be some limitations in the Breakpoint mode. I'm looking for clarification and our confirmation.
- With Fluid Boxes we have 6 default sizes to build from:
- Desktop - 1024 x 627
- iPhone 6 - 375 x 559
- iPhone 7Plus - 414 x 627
- iPad - 768 x 627
- Google Pixel - 412 x 604
- Galacy S6 - 360 x 560
In addition, there seems to be the ability to create unlimited number of custom sizes with Fluid Boxes.
In Breakpoint mode, it appears that I am limited to 5 views. The three defaults:
- Desktop - 1024 x 560
- Tablet Portrait - 768 x 627
- Mobile Portait - 414 x 466
Plus 2 custom options, giving me a total of 5 options.
The problem I'm running into is that I'd like to modify the Custom Mobile breakpoint to fit another device that is 414 px wide. However, it appears that Captivate will not let me reduce the width of the Custom Mobile view to anything less than 464 px. So, for example, if I wanted to use the Breakpoint view and create a mobile template for both the iphone 6 and the iPhone 7 Plus, I wouldn't be able to because the Custom Mobile template won't let me use anything smaller than 464 px wide.
Am I correct in this, or am I missing something?
Is there a workaround, or should I worry about it?
2. If there isn't a workaround for #1, can you design in the Fluid Boxes mode without actually using multiple fluid boxes? If I wanted to just use one box for each view, could I do that? Might there be an advantage to that? Or any disadvantages for that
