Custom Knowledge Check

I'm trying to create a custom knowledge check using Captivate 9. This his how I want it to function:

User clicks various terms (smart shape with text inside).

Some terms are right, some terms are wrong.

  • Once the user clicks a term, it turns red.
  • Once the user clicks all the terms he/she thinks are correct, the user clicks submit. (I achieved this through multistate)
  • Once the user clicks submit, the terms he/she selected should disappear. (I'm thinking this is an advanced action, but can't seem to figure it out)

Oh and I'd like the learner to be able to clear or reset the options they selected and try again.

Any tips/ideas on how to make this work?

Thanks!

A lot of what you're looking for depends on what type of feedback you want your Submit button to trigger. Definitely set up the selections as multi-state objects, but then you're going to need to assign variables to the answers.

That's the easy part - the difficult decision is how to use the multiple combinations of possible variable outcomes to determine what happens after you hit the submit button. (probably needs a series of conditional actions). The reset could be accomplished through another button  with an action that resets all variables, states, etc.

That would be a very long answer..... Since the decision to submit is done by a Submit button, user needs to have the possibility to change his mind and 'un' click terms as well. The disappearing part is probably the easiest one, but you have first to reflect about all possible situations, resetting etc.
