Custom Quiz Feedback

I've been reading through the forums and other sources, searching for the most accurate answer. I thought I'd start a new thread to see what your thoughts are!

My client has requested that each question of the quiz gives custom feedback for incorrect answers. Based on my research, this will probably require advanced actions. (If anyone has done this and would post a link to a tutorial/process of how they went about this, that would be awesome!) I'm sure I can figure this out, but surely someone has accomplished this and can help me avoid the pot-holes in the process.

The next client request is what may make this whole thing significantly more complicated. They also would like this incorrect answer feedback to link the user back to the place in the course where the correct answer can be found. I'm not sure if this is possible, or what else it might mess up.

Any ideas, suggestions, or solutions would be helpful, thanks!

I decided to use the ON LAST ATTEMPT option to direct the user back to a previous slide in the course for review. This accomplishes the review capability that the client requested. Now I'm just trying to figure out a way to either reset the quiz question on their way back through the course, or leave the feedback on the screen when they come back through so that they are reminded that they answered incorrectly, but still show them the correct answer in the response.

The only way to reset questions (all questions) is to use the Retake button on the Score slide, which means multiple attempts on Quiz level. There is no other possibility to reset a question slide, if it is a scored slide. Knowledge Check slides (only in CP9) are reset automatically when leaving the slide. More info in:

I do have the Retake button in place on the Score slide.

If that is the only way to reset the quiz, is there a way I could set up feedback to appear for an incorrect answer, have that feedback remain there, but then disappear when the user clicks the "Retake" button?

I wish there were a way to add to the functions of the buttons on Quiz slides!

Which version are you using (exact number, please)? Did you try the Advanced Answer options, available for MCQ with one correct answer? You can attach feedback and action to each answer. Or do you need other type of questions?

Remediation work flow could help with second request. Or should a second try not be allowed?

I'm on version 9.0.2.437

I think I figured out the easiest way to provide custom feedback for each incorrect answer. That was pretty straightforward, as I decided just to edit the Incorrect response box that appears by default.

Now I'm trying to figure out the best way to link the user back to the part of the course that has to do with the answer they got incorrect. Any way to create a button they click that directs them back, or something similar?
