Custom Radio Button

There was an archived topic from January of 2006 that was never replied to that read:

" Could anyone tell me where in the captivate package the radio button image is stored?
I can't find it in any of the folders and I would like to change the colour of it if this is possible."

I am using Captivate 3 and would like to use my own radio button. Is it possible to do that?

Thank you,
Jennifer

The true/false and multiple choice question slides both use radio buttons.

If these are what Jennifer is referring to, I don't know of any way to modify them. I tried opening the source files in Flash 8 (in Captivate 2, they're in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2\Components) and got an error.

It is possible that Jennifer was referring to altering the Playback Control?? I can see how that might be considered a set of "radio buttons".

If that is the case, you can change colors or do other modifications to any of the playback controls provided by Captivate. Just open your project and go to "Project > Skin...".

Because I understand he is An Action Script that is gerad automatically when a quiz is raised, to change that it would develop another class.
You can find the class in:
    C:\Programs File\ActionScript\AdobeCaptivate\quiz\CpAnsRadioButton

Thanks Fabio, I'll go ahead and develop another class in "CpAnsRadioButton.as".

Thank you all for your help! Yes, the default radio buttons for the quiz (multiple choice/true or false) is is what I was referring to! Their standard size is too small so I like to make them larger.

    Hi Jennifer ...

I've always been a little confused by the differing ways the term "radio button" is used. I'm an old guy, and a "radio" button is one of several buttons aligned (or "together") on a vertical plane. And to my knowledge, there are no "radio buttons" in Captivate.

But there are three-state buttons (up, down, and over) that in Captivate are called "image buttons" and they are all kept in the following folder:
    C:\Program Files\ Adobe\ Adobe Captivate 2 (or 3)\ Gallery\ Buttons\

These are simply BMP images in a certain range of sizes. Normally, there are 3 to a set (as I said earlier, "Up", "Down", and "Over"). You can create your own by following the naming conventions to be seen in the above folder, and saving them as BMP images in that folder. They will then be included in the offerings from the drop-list o the main tab of the "Button" properties dialog.

    Does that help at all?

P.S. Welcome aboard the Captivate User Community!!!
