Custom Submit Button

Is it possible to create a custom quiz submit button within a multiple choice slide that has submit functionality?  For example a button created using shapes and added to a quiz slide?  I'm using Captivate 9.

Thanks,

Jeff

    Correct answer Lilybiri

AFAIK the buttons (embedded objects with built in functionality) are the only buttons/captions that cannot be replaced by shape buttons (yet - crossing my fingers it will come soon).

You can use a workaround, because that Submit button is the most essential component of each quiz slide. Keep the button, but make it invisible by deleting its label,, change the fill and border (is possible). And use a shape (not a button) over that transparent Submit button. You cannot cover a question slide button with a shape, because the embedded objects are always on top, reason why you have to make the button transparent. It will look like a custom shape button but is really a duo of the original Submit button with a shape that mimicks a custom button.

Thank you Lilybiri!  Ultimately what I would like to do is this:  I have a quiz slide which if they answer incorrectly sends the user to a specific slide in the course.  Upon finishing with that slide, they can click a button to "Return to Quiz".  When they return to the quiz slide a second time, I would like the submit button to be disabled, and a "continue" button to appear which simply advances to the next question slide.  No problem getting the continue button to appear on returning, but I would like to disable the submit functionality at this time as well.  I know that I can do this by creating another quiz slide, but I'm trying to make this work when having them to return to the original quiz slide.

You cannot disable the Quiz Submit button! But with my work flow, you can hide that mimicked shape button and add another shape button with Continue, however it will have to be in another location because the invisible Submit button will still be active. At least if you use the remediation feature, which is meant to keep looping until the question is answered correctly.
