Question

Deleted Powerpoint slide seems to result in blank slides on linked Captivate

Hello!  I have a Powerpoint presentation linked to a Captivate 5.5 presentation.  I used the edit presentation option from Captivate and deleted a slide in the ppt.  Now I have several random slides in my cptx that are blank there but still have content in the ppt.  I've updated to sync, tried to insert slides from the ppt again, and am now stuck for ideas.

Upon updating I get the following warning:  "You have deleted some slides from the MIcrosoft PowerPOint presentation that is being used in the Adobe Captivate project.  If you choose to continue, the background of the Adobe Captivate slides that are linked to MIcrosoft PowerPoint might be affected.  Do you want to continue?"  The last time I said "yes" to this was when the blank slides appeared even though those slides have content in the ppt.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Hello

The reason of getting blank slide in Captivate is whenever you import Powerpoint Presentation in Captivate, Captivate convert the powerpoint presentation to SWF. So when you choose Edit Presentation and delete the slide in Micorosoft Powerpoint then save it, it means Captivate is removing the swf on that particular slide. You can try to manually delete those blank slides in Captivate.

Even if you delete the slide in Microsoft Powerpoint and then in Library try to Update the Presentation in Captivate the result will remain the same, you will still get the blank slide

Hope it helps

Thanks so much for your response, Vish!  Actually, it wasn't hard to delete the blank slides in the cptx project.  What was worrying me was that the content of the slides was still present in the pptx but not appearing in the cptx after updating.  I finally went to the Library where I found a red button beside the presentation.  After I updated from there the pptx slides were present in the cptx, but appearing at the end of the presentation instead of in their proper places.  At that point the blank slides were very helpful bookmarks to show me where to put them.  So I have recovered from this mysterious event.  It was scary for awhile though!
