Question

Disable "print screen" - ideas

Hi guys! I need your help.

I made a question pool in Captivate with a lot of questions to a lot of students. But the first students always share the questions what they get. They take print screens. So the last ones know almost the all questions.

Do you have any ideas, how can I avoid this situation? (There are a whale of questions in question pool, and more is not possible. And I can't shorter the time limit for complete the test.)

Is it possible in Captivate [5.5] to disable the "Print screen" key? (or not certainly in Captivate, if you have any other solution.)

I hope you can write me any good idea.

Thanks!

As Rod mentions, there's basically no way to block Windows' built-in Print Screen functionality but you can at least prevent them from printing the page directly from the web browser (assuming you are publishing as .htm./.swf):

It's also worth mentioning that even if you DID happen to somehow disable the Print Screen key, that would not prevent users that had a screen capture application such as SnagIt or Win7 users with the ClipIt tool that comes by default now with the OS.

So trying to disable the ability to print from screen is a futile exercise.  You need to develop a strategy to catch the perpetrators of this cheating and 'reward' them accordingly.

Even if you were able to assign the Print Screen key to something else in your Captivate movie (e.g. a click box or button) that is NOT going to prevent your users from being able to access the Print Screen key when focus is NOT within the Captivate content.

You need to find another way to combat this issue of students cheating.
