Display problem: html5-iPad (ios10) with safari zoom-in

A learner has reported a problem using an iPad with Safari (reports software is up-to-date). Lessons, or resumed lessons begin normally but then as she proceeds the screen zooms in progressively more with each screen until an image such as Image 1 is got. On proceeding further the message on Image 2 is obtained.
We have duplicated the issue on an iPad in our office. An internet search show that iPad-Safari-html5 zoom problems exist but no helpful suggestions found. We have also played around with zoom settings on the iPad without success.  All recently published 'projects' exhibit this behaviour.

Images 1 & 2 below refer.

Also, Images 3 & 4 are the main publishing settings for a 'project' that works normally.  While Images 5 & 6 are the settings for the problem 'project'.  Both are the same!

Your suggestions, please.

Try turning off the dual publishing to SWF as well as HTML5. Publish ONLY to HTML5 and test.

If the issue remains, try turning off the Scalable HTML and Full-Screen options and then test again for HTML5 ONLY.  It could be that one of these settings is causing the issue.

You may well be correct, Rod.

But, before experimenting, re-publishing and uploading perhaps 900 projects (upwards of 500 hours work), I'd like to know what's changed and why some projects continue to display correctly while others don't. I'm also concerned about the effect changes made to 'correct' the i-Pad problem might effect other device-operating system combinations.

Are we the only ones with this problem?

    I think you misunderstand me.

I'm not suggesting change all 900 projects yet.  I'm suggesting you experiment with ONE copy of a single module from one of these projects to try and determine which settings now work with your LMS etc.  If you really want to know what actions to take, that's the best way to do it.

You are correct that when (or IF) you DO find a combination of changes you can make to resolve this, you need to do some extensive testing to ensure it doesn't have other adverse side effects.

Your issue in fact might simply turn out to be due to the fact that your users have updated their iPad OS to version 10 which has been shown to cause a lot of issues that have nothing to do with Captivate.  So have you verified which iPad OS versions this issue does or does not occur on?
