Display Slide X of Y in Playbar ?

Captivate v5.5

I use the Superslim Playbar bar without the progress bar as users can drag the indicator button to the end and "skip" all slides.

However I would like to display in the Playbar slide X of Y so the user is aware of which slide they are working on.

I know there is a slide counter widget but I need the information displayed in the playbar not on the slides themselves.

Any ideas how this can be done ?

Noel

as an alternative, I think I remember there is a way to show the progress bar/slider component, but disable the ability to drag the slide/playhead.

I didn't find the answer with a quick search, but I know i've read it here, maybe even from lilybiri

    Andy,

Thanks for that. I have created a workaround...using the slide sounter widget with very small font and a white background.

Have placed it at the very bottom of the slide.

This way it is visible when my master slide details are on display and when I am showing full screen shots from my website it is small enough not to cover up anything.

    It works for me.

    Thanks again,

    Noel

Perhaps Andy was referring to the Playbar Lock widget by Yves Riel?

You'll need a Flash programmer there, Noel to change the playbar.

I suppose you only want that solution, not a caption on the master slide with that information that is updated on each slide?

Hi Lilybiri...Nice to "hear" from you again.

The situation I have is as follows. Some of my slides are created with images and text I have created (likea PPT) and I use the slide master to add a header and footer which works just fine and putting the slide number widget on the slide master works just fine for these slides.

However other slides are full size screen shots / recordings taken from our website and so the header and footer is not displayed and as a result nor is the slide number.

Placing the slide widget on the first slide to display for the rest of the project again, works fine when I have a header and footer but when I show screen shots etc, the slide numbers appear on top of and/or covering the slide text.

This was why I was looking to use the Playbar.

Thanks anyway...at least I know now.

I'm always here ...perhaps didn't answer your questions

Even for captured slides you can use a master slide that has just that information in a text caption, at least if you can put it where it will not be bothering the user too much (top or bottom somewhere). I will not use the widget myself, just insert this:

    $$cpInfoCurrentSlide$$/$$rdinfoSlideCount
